QTT, INC. names Tom Gentles Engineering Director

(DURHAM, NC August 2006) – Quixote Transportation Technologies, Inc. (QTT), is pleased to announce Tom Gentles as Engineering Director. In this role, Gentles will provide leadership for QTT engineering, work closely with the group to develop and implement new products, and improve existing QTT products. He will be located at the QTT offices in St. Louis, Missouri.

Gentles brings over 20 years of engineering and management experience to QTT, recently leading the Global Systems Engineering organization for the Imaging Solutions business of GE Healthcare. There he was responsible for the engineering of several new product development programs, requirements management methodology, and intellectual property management.

Gentles has an accomplished background in organizational leadership and product development in the data communications, gaming, and healthcare industries. He has held leadership roles in the data communications and telecommunications arena including, engineering responsibility for SIP and H.323 based VOIP products at 3Com and Quality Assurance and Testing for 3G wireless equipment manufacturer Cambia Networks. He began his career as an engineer in the Network Operations and Management segment of AT&T/Bell Laboratories, where he spent 14 years in a variety of technical and management roles.

Additionally, Gentles has authored several patents in the areas of IP telephony, network based gaming, and healthcare information technology. He has contributed to industry standards activities including the Chair of the Transport and Security Workgroup of the Gaming Standards Association and has given several invited presentations to conferences, tradeshows and universities.

Gentles holds a BSEE from the University of Missouri and a MSEE from the Georgia Institute of Technology with an emphasis in Digital Signal Processing.
